EVs: The Surprising Way They Helped Me Lose Weight as a Rideshare Driver

As a rideshare driver, I've been around the block a few times. And by "block," I mean the entire city because, let's face it, driving for Uber or Lyft means you're always on the move.

And as much as I love the freedom of being behind the wheel, there are certain things that can really take a toll on your health and wallet. That's where my newfound love for electric vehicles comes in.

It all started when I was doing my taxes. (I know, it's kind of late in the season but I did file an extension! Voila!) But as I was going through my expenses, something caught my eye. I was spending significantly less money on snacks and impulse purchases. Now, I'm not saying I'm a snacking fiend or anything, but let's just say that I'm not opposed to the occasional bag of chips or candy bar. So, why the sudden change?

At first, I was stumped. Did I just magically develop more willpower? Did I finally kick my snacking habit? But then it hit me like a bolt of lightning: I was visiting gas stations less frequently. And you know what that means - less temptation to indulge in those pesky snack aisles.

But why was I visiting gas stations less often? Well, that's the beauty of an electric vehicle. You don't need to stop for gas as frequently since the car runs on electricity. And let me tell you, it's a game-changer. No more fumbling for my wallet at the pump or dealing with the smell of gasoline. It's like I've entered a whole new world of driving.

Now, I'm not saying you should go out and buy an electric car just for the sake of losing a few pounds.

That would be like buying a juicer just because you think it'll magically make you healthier. (Spoiler alert: it won't.)

But if you're already in the market for a new vehicle, it's definitely worth considering an electric option. Not only will it save you money on gas, but it could also help improve your overall health and well-being. And if anyone asks why you're looking so trim these days, just tell them it's your new electric ride.

Of course, choosing an EV as a rideshare driver isn't a decision to take lightly. You'll need to do your research to find the right vehicle that meets your specific needs in terms of range, charging time, and cost. But the good news is, there are more and more options available these days. And let's not forget the environmental benefits - electric vehicles produce no emissions, which means you're doing your part to reduce your carbon footprint. You'll be a hero to the planet and your wallet.

So, the next time you're doing your taxes (or just in need of a little inspiration to make a change), take a moment to consider whether an electric vehicle might be the right choice for you. And who knows, maybe you'll end up shedding a few pounds along the way.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go figure out how to file my taxes on time next year. Maybe I should invest in a self-driving electric car that can handle that for me...wish me luck!"
